Management TeamJoan Maclennan, Executive DirectorJoan’s dedication to the senior community, coupled with her professional demeanor and effective managerial skills have worked to shape our community into a better place for residents and staff alike. She is a dedicated, caring professional with many years’ experience in the nursing and administration of both Assisted Living and Memory Care communities throughout the world. As the Memory Care Administrator for Regency Palms in 1997 (under a previous owner), Joan worked in tandem with the Alzheimer’s Association to train, educate and instill in staff and family members the understanding and compassion needed to effectively communicate and care for victims of Alzheimer’s disease. She served as a committee member of the Alzheimer’s Association for two years. Since that time Joan has successfully operated several Assisted Living and Memory Care facilities in the Las Vegas area. Joan’s high ethical and moral standards enable her to offer residents and family members a warm, safe, compassionate environment. A native of Scotland, Joan earned her R.N. degree from The Royal Northern Infirmary Inverness in 1971. She began her career in acute care and over the years changed her focus to specialize in geriatric care, dementia and Alzheimer’s disease. In her spare time, Joan likes to spend time with her granddaughter, take her dogs for long walks, and enjoy the sights and sounds of the Las Vegas community. Keyanna Rawlins, Health Services Director, L.P.N.Keyanna has worked in the assisted living field for eight years. She was born in New Jersey and raised in Bermuda. She is an LPN and graduated from Kaplan College in Las Vegas. Keyanna moved to Acacia Springs two years ago. She loves her job. Keyanna knows that when she puts a smile on the face of a resident or makes them laugh, she is doing the job that is right for her and the residents she serves. Outside of work, her four year old son is her heart and joy. Gina Haugh, Memory Care DirectorGina has several years experience working in Skilled Nursing facilities, Adult Day Care centers and Assisted Living communities in Connecticut, Arizona and Nevada. She specializes in assisting seniors diagnosed with Alzheimer’s disease and related dementias. Her primary focus is to help seniors thrive and their loved ones cope with memory loss, cognitive impairment and the impact it has on all involved. She has been a long time senior advocate and volunteer for the Alzheimer’s Association. She is a Regional Leadership Council Volunteer Board Member and Alzheimer’s Association Memory Walk Committee member. Her combined experience, compassion and management skills create a successful living and working environment for our Regency Palms residents and staff alike. Regina Coles, Assisted Living Resident Care CoordinatorRegina Coles joined the Regency Palms team in the summer of 2007. She has been involved in the assisted living industry for almost 10 years. Regina’s first job in an assisted living was transportation. She was then promoted to the Activity Director position and within a year she was promoted to Resident Services Director. Regina learned of Regency Palms through their excellent reputation and knew this was the premier assisted living and that she would like to be a part of “People who care, caring for people.” In Regina’s spare time she enjoys camping, traveling, her dog Davidson and cat Kitty Katt. Cristina Johnson, Director of MarketingCristina was born and raised in Florida where she started her career in Property Management in 2002 as a Leasing Consultant for multi-family housing. After moving to Las Vegas in 2006, she applied at a property management company that told her the only leasing position they had available was at a senior community. Shortly after accepting the position, she quickly realized that helping seniors find a place to call home is her passion. Cristina found that not only does she enjoy working with seniors and their family members, but learning their life experiences can be the most rewarding and heartfelt experience. Some of Cristina’s personal interests include live music, traveling, working out, playing the acoustic guitar, and spending time with her daughter. Janice Tursi, Activities DirectorJanice was born in Springfield Ohio and has three brothers and one sister. After high school she graduated from cosmetology school and also attended Wright State University. In Ohio she had an interior design business for many years. Janice moved to Las Vegas in 1987. She was the manager of a women’s clothing store. In 1998, she started working as an Activities Director and has been one ever since. Her hobbies are flower design and collecting dolls. She has a wonderful husband who she loves to spend time with when she is not busy keeping our residents smiling. Chef Dave , Director of Food ServicesChef Dave has over 30 years’ experience in the hotel, restaurant and catering industry. He worked for Hyatt Hotel Corporation for eight years where he received most of his training as a chef. Chef Dave joined Tenacre Foundation in 1990 as head chef and worked there 15 years. Tenacre is a Christian Science religion with a high senior population. As head chef, he was responsible for all menu planning, ordering, staffing and special dietary events. He joined BPM Senior Living in 2007 as Director of Food Services at Acacia Springs for 3 years before transferring to Regency Palms. Chef Dave is very proud to be part of the Regency Palms community. When not at Regency Palms, Chef Dave likes following his favorite sports teams, reading and traveling. Ralph Mercandante- Maintenance DirectorOriginally from Long Island, NY, Ralph brings superior maintenance service to the residents at Regency Palms. With over 28 years of experience, Ralph has a wealth of knowledge including but not limited to plumbing, framing, restoration, electrical, HVAC, and carpentry. Although Ralph has worked for general contractors and multi-family housing communities in the past, he has found that working for a senior community has been an enjoyable way to give back to the community. When he’s not assisting the residents, he enjoys hiking, fishing, photography, and music. |
